The "NEW" BACCHUS
We transformed Cafe Bacchus into
Bacchus Spiseri & Vinhus, a place where you can enjoy good food with quality wine.
Our head chefs have developed a modern nordic cuisine, made from local produce.

Bacchus is a neighbourhood gem with a rustic and laid back atmosphere.

Most of our wines are unfiltered and sulphate-free.
Which is up and coming in the wine industry today. The same goes for our coffee, tea, juices and beers.
Part of our restaurant is reserved for lunch and/or dinner, but it is possible to stop by just for a coffee or a drink.

We take reservations for lunch and dinner. Give us a call or send us an e-mail,  we would love to help you.
If you want to book a table for more than 8 people, we would like you to prebook one menu for the hole party.

 Welcome!

History

The bazaars situated by Oslo Domkirke aka Stortorgets Basar was built from 1840 to 1559 in New Romantic style in unrendered brick by the architect Chritian H. Grosh.

Originally there were butcher stalls with roofed arcades on this area but early on the 1800s it emerged wishes to improve the conditions for the sale of groceries.

The term "Kirkeristen" has it’s background in two grids from the early 1700s went through the brick wall and into the cemetery. These would prevent animals, especially livestock from entering the former cemetery..
